Dr. Katie Wilkins joined Blue Cross Animal Hospital in August 2025 after several years with Veterinary United in Michigan. A Washington State University graduate, she has a special interest in neurology, internal medicine, and is expanding her surgical skills. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, kayaking, horseback riding, and spending time with her boyfriend and their four dogs and three cats.

Dr. Katie Wilkins

Veterinarian

Dr. Kari Smith earned her PharmD from the University of Michigan in 2006 and her DVM from Michigan State University in 2020. She is certified in acupuncture and has a special interest in holistic veterinary care. An avid equestrian, she competes in hunter/jumper events with her horses and shares her home with 11 dogs, 7 cats, and actively supports Cavalier rescue.

Dr. Kari Smith

Dr. Salvatore Leone earned his DVM from Michigan State University in 2020 and has a strong background in exotic animal care. His interests include cytology, surgery, and dermatology. Outside of work, he enjoys running, creating art, and board games with family and friends. At home, he has a black shepherd named Shady and several goldfish.

Jessica has worked in the veterinary field since 2015 and holds a Bachelor's in Animal Science from Michigan State University. She is passionate about client education and preventative care. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, time with her husband, and caring for her dog and three cats.
